Boychuk hit was fine....wasn't a headshot...head wasn't principal point of contact... |

It was a roughing infraction.... resulted in an injury... I don't believe it was malicious.... I would give him one game.
If we can suspend Aaron Rome 5 games in 2011 for a late interference penalty as in Horton's head hit the ice as a result of the check, we can give Boychuk and smack on the wrist here.
As a side note:
The equipment needs to change, forearm/elbow padding is heavily armored and is dangerous on any hit to the head. |

so I see the team that finished the regular season with two wins in a month has returned, and without Bergeron and Campbell, I think the Bruins are cooked. All of a sudden we've got no answer for the 'hawks top line. Rask has been brilliant but I don't think he's gonna be able to save us if the offense doesn't smarten up and the D can't pick up their assignments.
All credit to the 'hawks for getting back to their game, it's just frustrating as a Bruins fan after the first three games to watch these guys suddenly walk all over the Bruins, and do what Pitt$burgh kept trying to do but succeeding in the last two games.
I went to bed before the end of the second period when the Bruins were down 2-0 with nothing going on and took another penalty cause I had to get up 04:30 for work. I'm glad I spared myself the pain when I woke up and saw the score. |

I agree. I wish the Hawks had sone D that hit like that. Or that Seabrook would hit more.
No suspension.
I do wonder why Toews was on the bench if he wasn't going to play. Seems strange to me. |

The announcers said that he was sitting just in case he had to serve a too many men penalty or something like that. |

I heard that but if he is hurt I'd rather he start treatment |

"My bet: Despite the hit -- which I’m still on the fence about, finding it to be ‘borderline suspendable at best’ to be honest -- there’s just no way that the league suspends a defensemen as important as Johnny Boychuk for an elimination game in Boston. It just doesn’t really happen like that, really."
But the trip on Krug n the last 15 seconds should have been called?
Boychuk didn't even get two for a head shot.
It had little, if anything to do with the outcome of the game either way. The better team won Games 2 and 3. The better team has won Games 4 and 5. The B's need to find some answers. Maybe they will. |

Re: Bergeron: reading that sources saying possible spleen injury
Re: Toews: if he was showing signs of a possible concussion, wouldn't he have to be in the dark room? I ask because if it comes out that it is even a minor concussion, hawks would have to explain why he wasn't being evaluated |

Would you be so sure if Seabrook laid Horton or Lucic out with the same hit? The point of contact was the head, what has to be determined is if the shotwas intentional or not. I am not certain it was an intentional headshot but that is for Shanny to decide. |

I read somewhere that the injury to Toews may have been a whiplash. |

I'm sorry, but that is a pretty dumb reason for not suspending a player. The league had no trouble suspending Pronger during the playoffs, on multiple occasions. |

No way that Boychuk hit deserves a suspension. As far as Krug,
Yeah ask Leafs fans if they have any sympathy for the Bruins having "missed calls" going against them. It still has to go against the Bruins for about another 10 years before it will make up for what they have gotten away with.

You are wrong...principal point of contact wasn't the head....look at the replay...What did Toews expect cutting across like that? |

with 15 seconds left it wouldn't have mattered, and there's no point in complaining about it, Bruins got away with their fair share of poop too. |

Arm hit his shoulder/back, elbow hit his head. Not sure what glasses you are looking throughbut there wasnt a sliding motion up his back to head. so you can drop the principle point remark and look at it again. As far as cutting across? Just because you cut across doesnt mean you have to take a dirty hit. Toews doesnt shy away from taking a hit so that is why he went across, but dirty hits need to be reviewed. Simple.

Boychuk hit didn't deserve a suspension but I thought it deserved a 2 minute cross-checking penalty only because it was from behind. Anyways tyler seguin sure gets away from any criticism from bruins fans. He's facing the 3rd and 4th d-man and he can't produce? Funny everyone points to Kadri having success because he played versus the 2nd pairing d. 1 goal in the playoffs. 32 points in the regular season(while playing with bergeron and marchand.) And he had 4 empty net goals so really he only scored 12 goals. I would be worried about him if I was a Bruins fan. Kessel actually produces in the playoffs too. That trade just keeps looking better for the Leafs. Where's hamilton? Seguin plays on a terrific team. Kessel would have done better on this team. You guys compare kessel and seguins first 3 years in the NHL...kessel has more points, not by much. But Seguin was a 2nd overall pick while Kessel was a 5th. I would think the 2nd overall pick sure produce more especially considering he plays with way better linemates. The Rask for Raycroft trade is what kills. |

Really pissing me off how much ice Chara and Jagr are getting. Jags is (frank)ing useless.
Julien NEEDS to pair Chara and Boychuk together |

Chara is looking tired. So many dirt goals around the net right in front of him |

That's what I mean. His ice time needs to be cut down. There are times where it seems like he's been out there for 5 mins straight. We have other defencemen that can shut down Bickell-Toews-Kane |
